Blessing vs. Lentils

 Today I want to talk about two brothers. Children of the same father and same mother with the same genetic lineage, they were brothers twins, but the differences between the two came from the inside to out. I'm talking about Esau and Jacob.
Tells the story that one day Esau came from hunting, he was very hungry, his brother Jacob was cooking, and Esau hungry, ordered a plate of lentils.

 

Jacob very smart said, I give you food if you give me your birthright*.
Then Esau said, "Look, I am about to die, what good is the birthright to me?" Genesis 25:32

So as we know, Esau sold his birthright to Jacob. Over the years, to die Isaac called Esau and asked him: "Behold now, I am old and do not know the day of my death, takes, therefore, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field , and take me some venison; "
 Genesis 27:2-3

Jacob with the help of  his mother tricked Isaac, who is thinking was Esau, blessed Jacob instead.

We know that Jacob was blessed and prosperous, his name was named one of the greatest nations of the world, Israel, but this blessing was for Esau. However Esau committed a grave mistake, as we read, he said: "Look, I am about to die, what good is the birthright to me?"

Sometimes we are too weak, tired and forget the blessings of God. Then along comes someone/something that gives us a relief, a cure, a momentary satisfaction, and we accept that, and in turn we deliver our blessing to another.

1 - If God has promised, He will fulfill.

"God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?" Numbers 23:19

2 - Years may pass, but the promises do not die:

"Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away." Luke 21:33

3 - The bread can be of sorrow, but the victory is assured:

"Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, 

your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Isaiah 30:20 a

"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." 2 Chronicles 15:7

Stay strong in Jesus, do not change your blessing for anything else, wait patiently.

 *Primogeniture is the common tradition of inheritance of all wealth, status or role of parents for the first child, or in the absence of a child by close relatives, in order to maintain the status of the family line.

Não Troque a Benção por Lentilhas

 

 Hoje eu gostaria de falar sobre dois irmãos. Filhos do mesmo pai e da mesma mãe, com a linhagem genética igual, eles eram irmãos gêmeos, porém as diferenças entre os dois vinham de dentro para fora. Estou falando de Esaú e Jacó.

Conta a história que, um dia Esaú chegando da caça, estava com muita fome, seu irmão Jacó estava cozinhando, e Esaú com fome, pediu um prato de lentilhas.

Jacó muito esperto lhe disse: Eu lhe dou a comida se me deres tua primogenitura*.

Esaú então disse: Estou a ponto de morrer; de que me aproveitará o direito de primogenitura?

Então como sabemos Esaú vendeu a Jacó a sua primogenitura. 

Passados os anos, Isaque a ponto de morrer chamou Esaú e lhe pediu:  

"Eis que agora estou velho, e não sei o dia da minha morte; toma, pois, as tuas armas, a tua aljava e o teu arco; e sai ao campo, e apanha para mim alguma caça;" Gênesis 27:2-3

 

Jacó com a ajuda de sua mãe enganou a Isaque, 

que pensando ser Esaú, abençoou a Jacó.

Nós sabemos que Jacó foi abençoado e prospero, 

seu nome deu nome a uma das maiores nações do mundo, 

Israel, mas esta benção era para Esaú. 

 Porem Esaú cometeu um erro gravíssimo, como lemos, ele disse: 

 "Estou a ponto de morrer; de que me aproveitará a primogenitura?"

As vezes estamos muito fracos, cansados e esquecemos das bênçãos de Deus. Então aparece alguém/algo que nos oferece um alivio, uma cura, uma satisfação momentânea, e nós aceitamos isso, e em troca entregamos a nossa benção para outro. 

1- Se Deus te prometeu, Ele cumprirá.

"Deus não é homem, para que minta; nem filho do homem, para que se arrependa; porventura diria ele, e não o faria? Ou falaria, e não o confirmaria?" Números 23:19

2- Os anos podem se passar, mas as promessas não morrem:

"Passará o céu e a terra, mas as minhas palavras não hão de passar." Lucas 21:33

3- O pão pode ser de angustia, mas a vitória é garantida:

"O Senhor lhes dará o pão de dores e a água do sofrimento, mas não se esconderá de vocês. Ele é o seu mestre, e vocês o encontrarão quando quiserem. Se vocês se desviarem do caminho, indo para a direita ou para a esquerda, ouvirão a voz dele atrás de vocês dizendo: "O caminho certo é este; andem nele." Isaías 30.20 e 21

"Mas esforçai-vos, e não desfaleçam as vossas mãos; porque a vossa obra tem uma recompensa." 2 Crônicas 15:7

Fique firme em Jesus, não troque a sua benção por nada neste mundo, espere com paciência.
